Zealand with Copenhagen, the Queens city and the attractive capital of Denmark
is first and foremost the childrens island. In Copenhagen the Tivoli is an
experience for life for all ages, a fantastic magic world in the middle of the
busy capital. The little Mermaid, Amalienborg Castle and the Planetarium are
also a must. Also enjoy the old part of town, the thriving culture, cafe and
restaurant life and of course shopping on the longest pedestrian street in
Europe is not to be missed. A popular way to see the city is by boat. Try one of
the canal boats and sit back and let the city glide by.
At Kronborg Castle in Helsingør is where the area with the many holiday homes
begins. Crystal clear water in front of the cliffs at Tisvilde, and from here
you can see across to Sweden. North Zealand also has some of the largest lakes
and forests in Denmark, and it is also in this area you can see some of the most
impressive old royal palaces.
