Description

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday on a Greek
island, a stay at the Blue
Dolphin on Aegina island is highly recommended. You
can find The Blue Dolphin
studios & apartment just outside the village of Vagia.

This small complex has 6 studios & 1 apartment and has
its own swimming pool
surrounded with sunbeds and umbrellas. From your
studio you have a panoramic
view that includes blue seas framed by mountains with
Athens and the
surroundings of Attica in the distance. At the snack bar
you can get
refreshments, small snacks, light meals & salads or play
a game of chess or
backgammon at the terrace.The sandy Vagia beach is a
short walk away and it is
only 70 metres to a small little beach.

This quiet beautiful corner of the island is largely
covered with pine-forested
hills. Vagia village is small, has a lovely sandy beach and
small harbour. The
local bus stops in front of the Blue Dolphin and nearby
you will find a couple
of tavernas and the local mini market.

Aegina is a beautiful small island situated just south of
Piraeus, the main port
of Athens in Greece. Aegina island is triangular in shape,
approximately 15 km
from east to west and 10 km from north to south, with
an area of about 87 km2.

The island is famous for is pistachio nuts "Fistikia". Due
to its ideal climate
and close distance to the mainland it is lively all year
round. Although the
island is small, it has all the ingredients for a fantastic
holiday. Aegina
offers a variety of beaches, ancient sites, museums,
fishing & mountain
villages, a diverse flora that is set in a fantastic
landscape with amazing
views towards the neighbouring islands and the
mainland from Attica towards the
Peloponnese.

Road Description

Athens Airport - Piraeus (by bus)
From Athens airport you can go direct with bus to
Piraeus and from there by boat
to Aegina . Just outside the exit of the airport, there is a
small ticket house
where you can buy a bus ticket to Piraeus.
X96 is the name of the bus and is leaves about every
half hour. The bus departs
just outside the exit of the airport and costs around € 5.
When you get on the
bus, stamp the ticket in the machine, and ask the driver
if he can tell you when
you are at the port of Piraeus.

Arriving at the port go to Gate/E8 (there are large signs
to show you the way).

Athens Airport - Piraeus (by taxi)
You can also take a taxi from the airport if this is more
convenient. If you
choose to do so, ask the driver to take you to the port of
Piraeus and tell him
that you are going to Aegina. The taxi costs about 50 €
for a one way trip.

Arriving at the port go to Gate/E8 (there are large signs
to show you the way).

Piraeus - Aegina (Car ferry or Flying Dolphin)

In the harbour (Gate/E8), there are a few different
ticket houses where they
sell boat tickets to Aegina, and it doesn´t matter which
boat you take. There
are ferries that take about 1 hour and 15 minuter and
there is Flying Dolphins,
which takes about 45 minutes.Speedboats are a bit
more expensive. The tickets
cost between € 8 - € 12 / person. We usually go with
the Car ferry, it is
wonderful to sit out on the deck!

You can choose to go to one of these ports of Aegina:
Aegina, Souvala or Agia
Marina.
It's closest to go by boat to Souvala (but it differs little
in time).

Before the ferry leaves the harbour at Piraeus send us a
text message or give us
a call, so that we can pick you up when your arriving at
one of the ports of

We have a small sign with us that says "Blue Dolphin" so
you know what to look
for when arriving.

NOTE: Remember that the last boat from Piraeus to
Aegina leaves at kl.08:00 Pm.
( In Spring 18:00). Do not hesitate to give us a call If
you miss, or know by
forehand that you wont be able to, make the last boat .

to book a hotel near the port of Piraeus. There are
descent hotels for a costs
from around 30 € / night.
