Mistraki is a quiet and picturesque hamlet with a lovely square, cobble stone
paths, a spring water well, citrus trees and a small private church. The
quaint village was awarded heritage status by the Greek Ministry of Culture as a traditional settlement of historic interest. The few remaining houses are over a hundred years old and built from locally sourced stone.
Technological developments have made little impact on Mystraki. Agriculture is of prime importance, especially the cultivation of olives for the production of
the worldwide reputed olive oil. There are no bars or other tourist
distractions; only the chatter of cicadas and the occasional bray of a
neighbor's donkey.
Messinia has endless sandy coasts, fertile valleys and imposing mountains for
walkers, cyclists and nature lovers alike. An area rich in history, culture and
ancient myth. You can enjoy many activities; swimming, sunbathing, fishing,
snorkeling, sailing, turtle spotting, olive picking, wild flowers, horse riding
and bird watching.
