The Nature Reserve Malingsbo-Kloten in southern Dalarna and northern Västmanland
is one of the biggest Nature Reserves in Sweden. High hills and deep valleys
surround a long stretch of excellent paddling water with steep cliffs descending
dramatic into the river along narrow stretches. The wilderness is located high
and the wildlife is rich. There are a lot of moose, deer and beaver but also
lynx, wolf and bear are represented.
Plenty of activities offer the opportunity to discover the wilderness all around
the year. Rent of canoes, kayaks, bicycles, ice skates and snow shoes. Beaver
and moose safaris. Occasional howling wolfs can be heard at night. Excellent
fishing and good hiking trails. Nice forest for berry and mushroom picking.
