Casa Daniela’ is a well restored farm building transformed into a romantic
country cottage. The house - in the surroundings of Casole d’Elsa, a medieval
village with Etruscan origins – is located on a hill surrounded by a large
olive grove and a pretty garden. Inside the main rooms all have wooden ceilings
and terracotta floor tiles. The furnishings are typical of the ‘Tuscan´ style.
The main room is a large living-dining room with well furnished kitchen. This
homely room also has a fireplace, settees and a television set. There is a
shower-room (with washing machine) and to a pretty attic double bedroom, with
skylight in the roof. Down the staircase there are a twin bedroom and a lounge
furnished with a double sofa bed and armchairs. Outside the garden has swimming
pool, tables, chairs, sun loungers and barbeque, and children’s games
Casole d' Elsa - is a village characterised mainly by its buildings of ancient
brick, placed on the ridge of a hill from where one can enjoy a beautiful
panoramic view. La Rocca is the most important civil building in Casole, today
the seat of the Town Hall. An imposing quadrangular edifice with a massive
stone tower in the northern corner and another smaller one at slight angle at
the opposite corner. To the sides of the main entrance are still visible some
well preserved arrow slits. Over the course of time there have been numerous
alterations, giving the building a much changed aspect, although conserving the

A very secluded property set amidst olive trees and vines. The ideal spot for a
couple or family who enjoy the countryside. We were a couple for the first
week, then our daughters (23 and 25) joined us for the second week. We had
already visited the area before and had seen Siena, Pisa, Florence etc...so
just chilled by the big pool, sunbathed in the tranquil gardens, barbecued and
sampled the local wine. Casole D'Elsa was a picturesque hilltop village which
provided any evening entertainment and diversions. Husband hired mountain bike
and also took many arty photos of scenery, while I swam in pool and read.
Daughters enjoyed walking to village to buy provisions to barbecue. (We did
find that the food costs had risen steeply since our last visit 2 years
ago...not just to euro/pound exchange rate.)But, all in all a wonderful holiday
in a beautiful setting.Property was very good and fine for the four of us,
however...narrow spiral staircase linking 3 floors may not be ideal for those
with small children or the elderly. Daniela was very friendly, and helpful. We
would recommend this to like-minded travellers.
